Finding the Cause, Not Just the Symptom
A tripping switchboard is telling you something is wrong. It could be a faulty appliance, water getting into an outdoor fitting, a damaged cable or an overloaded circuit. Resetting it over and over does not fix the cause. We test the circuits methodically to find where the fault is, then fix it, so it does not come back next week. If the fault points to a bigger problem, such as old wiring or a switchboard that is past its best, we tell you honestly and leave the decision with you.

Common Questions
Repeated tripping usually means the switchboard is protecting you from a real fault. Common causes are a faulty appliance, moisture in an outdoor socket or light, a damaged cable, or too much load on one circuit. Try unplugging appliances on that circuit and resetting once. If it trips again, will not reset, or you notice a burning smell or warmth, leave it off and call us on 09 390 9884. We will find the cause and fix it properly.
First check your switchboard for a tripped switch or RCD and reset it once. If the power point still does not work, stop using it and give us a call. A dead outlet can be a loose connection, a failed fitting or a fault on the circuit, and loose connections can get hot. Replacing or repairing a power point is a quick job for us, and we will check the rest of the circuit while we are there.
Flickering can be as simple as a failing bulb or an LED driver that does not suit the dimmer. It can also point to a loose connection in a switch, fitting or the switchboard, which should be checked.
